Rescue of bees in organic banana plantations and installation of apiaries

The Agricultural Cooperative Los Tainos (COOPROBATA) will rescue the bees found in their plantations with the aim of incorporating them into 10 demonstration apiaries that will be installed in the conservation areas of their farms.

The project aims to:

• Provide training on bee rescue and incorporation into productive systems.
• Generate new income through hive products (honey, pollen and propolis).
• Protect and increase biological biodiversity through the pollination service provided by bees.
